Q4: Can I use CGI or PHP scripting? A: You must upgrade to a paid hosting package to use CGI or PHP scripting. A: You will need an FTP Program to upload files. The steps for uploading files to your personal web space are as follows: 1. Start your FTP program and make sure the following values are in the appropriate place:
2. Once you have set
up your FTP program, connect to the FTP server and upload your files. 3. After all of your files have been uploaded, you'll be able to view your website. Type the URL of your personal web space into the address bar of your web browser (for example, http://users.vianet.ca/yourusername or http://users.vianet.ca/~yourusername) and your site will appear. If you didn't include a page called "index.html", or "index.htm" you'll have to type the name of the HTML file that you want to look at the end of your personal web space address. (http://users.vianet.ca/main.html). You should test your site to be sure everything works. Please keep in mind that files you have uploaded are case sensitive, meaning that if you name a document Main.html, typing in "main.html" may not work.
